Topic > My road to becoming an engineer - 720

“If I can, you can”. That was the last sentence of an inspirational TED talk by a stand-up comedian about how she faced obstacles in her life with humor, grace, and a refusal to give up. Similar was my expression when I visited a scientific exhibition organized in my school where students presented wonderful projects. That's when I decided I would become an engineer. When I started pursuing this new interest, I quickly realized that there is engineering to show off, and then there is engineering that works in the background. Being familiar with the prospects of the former, I delved into the latter and soon realized that electrical engineering was the right thing for me, a vision further strengthened after I enrolled in the graduate program at the University of Engineering and Technology of Lahore. (UET Lahore). Slowly and steadily, I began to unravel the curiosities that were mysteries to me when I was a child and so my hunger for more grew. When we studied digital logic design and microprocessors, I was excited. With the knowledge of signals, systems and control systems, I was elated. Studying digital system design, digital signal processing and industrial electronics made me enraptured. During the course of my undergraduate studies I was exposed to various courses with practical applications such as digital logic design, microprocessor systems, control systems, digital signal processing and industrial applications. Electronics. In all these courses my performance was good as I mostly got A grades in these courses. I got an internship at "Agritech Fertilizers Limited" in the Instrumentation and Control Department during the summer of my senior year. There I had a chance to study the basic tool... half of the article... the knowledge gave me enough exposure to the basic concepts and research possibilities. Now is the best time to dig deep and explore a field of research for which I have both an aptitude and a liking. I believe that a symbiotic relationship between the student and his or her department is of the utmost importance to a successful graduate program. LUMS is one of the best institutes in Pakistan and has a strong and distinctive profile in the fields of Electrical Engineering. So, LUMS is the perfect choice to fulfill my desire to earn a "Master of Science in Electrical Engineering". I hope that LUMS will help me become what I have always dreamed of being: a skilled engineer on the outside and a caring humanitarian on the outside. the interior. I hope that this dream of mine comes true, and with this hope, I look forward to being part of the illustrious student body of LUMS.
