Will you be lining up for Black Friday deals this holiday season? Black Friday is often seen as the epitome of consumerism, but it's actually an example of extreme consumerism, not typical everyday consumerism. In all reality there are many aspects of consumerism, some beneficial and others harmful to the population. Because humans were created to consume, consumerism and Christianity are compatible, but only to the extent that consumerism does not become a fully materialistic pursuit. This is clearly demonstrated largely by biblical standards, as will be discussed later. However, to understand how the ideologies of consumerism and Christianity are compatible, one must first understand consumerism. Consumerism can be difficult to define as there are different forms in which this worldview can manifest itself. These forms range from the economic to the selfish, from innovation to reductionism, and so on. Some are more beneficial to the world at large, while others focus solely on the individual. While each aspect of consumerism may seem as different as the North and the South, they all share a common basis. Consumerism, in its essence, is the consumption of goods or other substances by an individual (Campbell, One of the most popular and well-known faces of consumerism is that of the consumer advocate. Consumer protection is one of the most important aspects of consumerism. Since when purchasing necessary and non-necessary goods, consumers have had to pay attention to misleading claims from manufacturers and companies in forms such as misleading information and the creation of products that use substances that may be harmful to health, for example, products made or decorated using... medium of paper; ......avoid falling prey to a worldview that derives from irresponsibility, materialism and reduction.
