Love and commandment number six in The Great GatsbyIn the story The Great Gatsby, the word love is used a lot. But of all times, is it ever used correctly and truly? The story makes you think a lot about love, marriage and, in a certain sense, the relationship with God. By relationship with God I mean that in the commandments, number six, do not commit adultery. First of all, Tom and Daisy are married, so they should be loyal and faithful to each other, especially the fact that they have a daughter. . However, in the story we discover that this is not true at all. First of all, in chapter one we find out that Tom has another girlfriend and has been seen out and about on or more than one occasion by different people. Then in chapter two we find out more about Tom and his girlfriend as we meet Myrtle for the first time in the story. Myrtle is the person Tom secretly hangs out with. We find out that Tom and Myrtle don't like the people they are married to but for one reason or another they don't want to leave the other person. However Tom is not the only one to blame as we later find out that Daisy and Gatsby were once very close. We also discover that Daisy is the object of Gatsby's desire and he will do anything to get her back, because he loves her so much. Also, as the story continues, we find out that Daisy is ready to move in with Gatsby, except for one small detail. That little detail is their daughter and Daisy's feelings for her. This is probably the first and only mention of what is right in the entire story in terms of love. As for Daisy and Tom, they need to put their personal problems behind them and worry about their daughter first. No matter how they feel about each other or how they feel about someone else, their daughter should be the first priority. It makes you wonder if they fully understand what is going on in life around them. It is also curious to wonder what kind of virtues they were taught when young. Virtues as if they were taught to him
