Hackers, if successful, can gain information about firepower developments and, worse, nuclear bomb codes. Therefore cybersecurity is critical for the government to keep its sensitive information safe. This was demonstrated when a Chinese hacker hacked into government email accounts with a form of phishing. Phishing is the attempt to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details, often for malicious reasons, by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication (Wikipedia). This has led government officials to shut down most alerts on employee accounts to prevent this form of hacking. Phishing is often present especially in emails. For example, if someone were to receive an email from their boss about an important task, the hacker may have hidden malware in the email. So even if they opened what appeared to be an informational email from their boss, they let a hacker into their computers and will be able to access anything on your computer that they have the skills to do
