I once had to help my friend Louie. We had been at my house and he had forgotten to turn off the lights on his old pickup. He went to start it and it wouldn't turn, he realized he left the lights on. I brought my pickup to try to start his. I wasted a quarter tank of gas revving my truck to try to make more power. At this point we gave up, then we realized that we could start his withdrawal. I pulled his truck with my truck up the hill to my sloped driveway. He started the car, pressed the clutch and took off. Being able to help someone is a great advantage in life. I love helping people and being able to help my friend in his time of need is a great pleasure in my life. When he started the truck it was a great feeling of relief that we had made it. People will always need help with something, that's why there is more than one person in the world. This experience makes me understand that everyone has their moment of need and if you help them they will help you in your moment of need. Overcoming obstacles like this just shows us another lesson: “Whether you think you can or you think you can do it” just like that, you are right.” –Henry Ford This quote explains my experience why we were about to give up and it was okay that we believed we couldn't, but we kept trying and found out we could. The subjects of the assigned literature represent the range of personal traits from the brave to the wicked, and those with less dramatic characteristics. Man in the Water is the story of a plane that crashes into the Potomac River and the last survivors are floating in the water. water waiting for help. The water is frozen and the helicopter arrives and sends down a lifeline and a single man held passes...... middle of paper...... to the nefarious, and to those with less dramatic characteristics. Being able to help someone is what I love to do, helping people makes me happy and makes me feel good about myself. When I was helping my friend he really needed someone to help him because you shouldn't do everything by yourself, sometimes you can use a hand. Little things help a lot even if you don't think they will help you, it will whether you realize it or not. Works Cited BeoWulf. Trans. Burton Raffel. Literature and language. Ed. Arthur N.
